停车

To enhance the safety and security of the people, 车辆, and property on campus, Paul Smith’s College has established the 停车 and 汽车的政策.  This policy is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  Anyone who parks and operates a vehicle on campus must abide by this policy.  Click the link below to view the full Paul Smith’s College 停车 and 汽车的政策.

车辆注册登记

学生s and 员工s must register their vehicle with 校园安全 within 24 hours of bringing a vehicle to campus.  Once registered, they will be issued a parking permit. 

Vehicles do not need to be re-registered unless something has changed, such as a student moving off campus, an off campus student moving on campus, a license plate change, 或者换车.

学生 permits must be applied to inside rear window on the lower driver’s (left) side.  All permits must be placed in this location, regardless of the tint of the rear window.

员工s will be issued a mirror hang tag to be displayed on the rear view mirror of the vehicle while parked on campus.

This permit is to be applied to the rear window on the lower driver’s (left) side.  All permits must be placed in this location, regardless of the tint of the rear window.

This permit is to be hung from the rear view window, with the permit number facing outward, so that it is visible from outside the vehicle.  In accordance with New York State Law, the permit should be removed when the vehicle is motion.

PARKING LOT ASSIGNMENTS AND PARKING MAP

停车 lots on campus are divided into the following categories: student (on campus residents) parking, commuter (students) parking, 员工停车, 客人停车, 还有露天停车场.

Anyone who is not parked in their assigned lot will be issued a ticket for parking in wrong lot, which carries a $20 fine.

访问or parking in lot 17 is reserved for visitors only.  Anyone parked in the 15 minute parking spaces for longer than 15 minutes will be issued a ticket.

生命接力, 障碍, and Low Emission Fuel Efficient parking spaces are reserved for those who have been issued the appropriate permits.

Vehicles parked in fire lanes or blocking traffic are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.

Anyone who receives a ticket has the right to appeal the ticket.  Ticket appeals must be submitted within 7 days of the date the ticket was issued.

First-time offenders who have received a ticket for a parking violation are eligible to submit a First-time Violator’s Appeal Exam.  To submit a First-time Violator’s Appeal Exam click the link below to print the exam or you can obtain one at the 校园安全 Office.  Fill out the exam, and submit the exam and your ticket to the dispatcher at the 校园安全 Office.  You will notified of the outcome of the exam via your Paul Smith’s College email.

If your recent ticket is not your first or you have received a ticket for a moving violation, you can submit a Ticket Appeal.  To submit a Ticket Appeal click the link below to print the appeal or you can obtain one at the 校园安全 Office.  Fill out the appeal, and submit it with your ticket to the dispatcher at the 校园安全 Office.  You will be notified of the outcome of the appeal via your Paul Smith’s College email.

Ticket Appeals are reviewed by the 校园安全 Director.  Ticket appeals that are denied are automatically forwarded to the 停车 Committee for final review.

停车委员会

The 停车 Committee was established to review issues regarding parking and driving on campus, and to provide a second level of review for ticket appeals.  The 停车 Committee consists of members from the following groups on campus: on campus students, 通勤的学生, 教师, 工作人员, 学生 Government Association (SGA), 居住生活, and Sodexo Facilities.  The committee is facilitated by the Director of 校园安全.  The committee meets at least once a month to discuss parking and traffic issues on campus and to review ticket appeals.
